The design of the long strip-shaped Hug Cushion, resembling a pair of comforting hands, aims to provide a secure embrace and long-lasting companionship to users who may feel insecure. grado’s sincere intention and minimalist design language reflect their aspiration to offer increased care and attention to the autistic community. Through this endeavor, grado seeks to cultivate a compassionate mindset that can be applied to assist other marginalized groups, harnessing the power of their designs and products to bring meaningful support to those in need.
SUPPORT FOR WOMEN
grado is dedicated to promoting gender equality and being an employer that values and supports women. This commitment extends to both their design philosophy and recruitment practices. In their designs, grado’s talented designers incorporate feminine elements into their products, such as the elegant backrest and armrests of the Belly Sofa, which draw inspiration from the collar of a woman’s fur, adding a touch of nobility. Similarly, the leg of the Dada Sofa takes cues from the heel of a high-heeled shoe, resulting in clean and lightweight lines. In terms of recruitment, grado has taken significant steps to ensure equal employment opportunities for women. Currently, 70% of the company’s workforce are women, and two-thirds of the management team are also women. grado actively creates an inclusive and supportive environment, providing women with excellent development platforms and space to thrive in their careers.
